According to the Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Jian Jianhua, the automobile steel used in 2007 will reach 12.55 million tons, and will gradually increase in the next few years. By 2010, the demand for automotive steel will increase to 27.67 million tons.
According to the development trend of automotive steel products and the composition of auto parts and components, the localization of assembly, and the prediction of the auto market, he believes that the demand for steel products in China's auto industry will remain very strong in the next few years. In 2007, it was 12.55 million tons, of which steel plate was 9.41 million tons and structural steel was 3.14 million tons. By 2010, the demand for automotive steel in the auto industry will increase to 27.67 million tons, including 20,750 tons of steel plates and 6,920,000 tons of structural steel.
Shi Jianhua stated that at present, the steel used for automobile production in China still cannot fully meet the needs of the automotive industry. First of all, some steel grades cannot be supplied domestically and still need to be imported. These include thicker high-strength surface-treated steel sheets, hot-rolled pickled sheets 0.7-1.4 mm thick, girder sheets greater than 600 MPa in yield strength, two-way steel sheets for car wheels, aluminized steel sheets, ultra-high-strength multi-phase steels, and hot stamping Forming steel plate, high strength and high toughness non-quenched and tempered steel. Second, some steel grades have unstable performance. Such as ultra-deep steel plate performance instability, bearing steel purity, carbide and other poor uniformity. Third, some steel products are in short supply and cannot be supplied in large quantities. Such as non-quenched and tempered steel wire, cold heading steel and easy-cut steel.
Zhou Tao, an analyst at Guojin Securities, said that in recent years, the rapid development of the domestic automobile industry will inevitably bring about an increase in the demand for automotive steel. In the next few years, automotive steel will become a profit growth point for Chinese steel companies. .
Zhou Xizeng, an analyst at CITIC Securities, believes that the demand for domestic automobile steel has been steadily increasing. Several major industries such as building materials, machinery, and automobiles are the major consumer sectors for steel products in China, while the demand for automotive steel has grown very strongly. The increase in demand has exceeded the increase in the demand for steel for building materials. At present, the listed companies producing domestic steel mainly include Baosteel (600019), Angang (000898), Wuhan Iron and Steel (600005), Fushun Special Steel (600399), Daye Special Steel (000708) and Benxi Steel (000761). , Ma Steel (600808) and so on.
Zhou Xizeng said that automotive steel is a pyramid product of the steel industry and has a high technological content. Before the automobile steel in our country was mainly imported, in recent years, the domestic steel enterprises have made rapid technological progress and basically can replace imports. For example, after 10 years of development, Baosteel has already accounted for 50% of domestic market share in cold rolled sheet for automobiles. In addition, the technical upgrading of Anshan Iron and Steel is also very fast, and BMW, GM, Ford and other world-famous brand cars have begun to use their products. In foreign countries, the demand for automotive steel is relatively concentrated. The top five automotive manufacturers in Europe basically correspond to five steel suppliers. In Japan, the concentration of automotive steel is also increasing. Baosteel and Shanghai Automotive, Wuhan Iron and Steel and Dongfeng Automobile, Anshan Iron and Steel and FAW Volkswagen are also forming a stable supply and demand relationship. The demand for steel for automobiles has grown rapidly. It will become an important direction for the future development of China's steel industry.
