German automotive technology supplier China production base opened in Qingdao

German Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems Co., Ltd. China's Qingdao production base officially broke ground in the National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone in Qingdao on the 30th. This is the second production base of the German company in China.

According to the project investment agreement, the production base covers an area of ​​160 mu and the total investment is about RMB 1.6 billion. After the Qingdao production base is completed, it will be mainly used for the production of common rail fuel injectors for heavy-duty, light commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles.

Zhao Xingshu, deputy secretary of the Qingdao High-tech Zone Working Committee and director of the Management Committee, said at the ceremony that the Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems Co., Ltd. Qingdao Branch project broke ground in the Qingdao High-tech Zone, marking the development of advanced manufacturing in the High-tech Zone has entered a new Stage. The two parties will jointly build the Bosch Qingdao industrial base, which will not only help the Bosch Group to develop the Chinese market, but also inject new impetus for Qingdao to accelerate the development of the Qingdao automotive industry.

According to Wang Weiliang, president of Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems Division in China, today's groundbreaking of the industrial base marks another milestone in the development of Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems in China. It also demonstrates the World Expo Group’s firm confidence in the development of clean diesel technology in the Chinese market. As China's diesel IV emission standards will be officially implemented in July 2013, the demand for clean diesel technology in the Chinese automotive market, especially in the commercial vehicle sector, will grow rapidly.

The Qingdao High-tech Zone was founded in November 1992 and is one of the first national high-tech industrial development zones approved by the State Council. The development and construction of the main park in the high-tech zone has grabbed the opportunity for the construction of the Blue Economic Zone in Shandong Peninsula to become a national strategy and the construction of Blue Silicon Valley in Qingdao. In the first half of 2012, it achieved a total revenue of 78.3 billion yuan and an industrial added value of 17.76 billion yuan. Up till now, 359 companies and projects have been introduced, with a total investment of approximately 79.6 billion yuan, including 98 million yuan worth of major industrial projects, Taiwan TPV LCM modules and LCD monitors, Japan Dongbi Machinery, US TRW and Hong Kong Investment Promotion Bureau software and creativity.
