Cummins plans to set up a joint venture with Vietnam Automotive Industry Corporation to produce diesel engines for vehicles

Cummins Inc. (abbreviated as Cummins, NYSE: CMI) announced that it had officially signed a memorandum of cooperation with Vietnam’s largest state-owned commercial vehicle manufacturer, Vietnam Automotive Industry Corporation, on the establishment of a 50:50 joint venture. As part of the economic and trade cooperation agreement between Vietnam and the United States, Cummins Group Vice President Steve Chapman, head of Emerging Markets, attended the signing ceremony hosted by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in New York.
