Automotive steel development and application technology has been accepted

On December 4, experts from the Ministry of Science and Technology reviewed and accepted the State Key Laboratory of Steel Development and Application Technologies for Automotive Steel. The expert group unanimously believed that the laboratory relied on Baosteel's technological innovation system to continuously strengthen the research on automotive steel technology, in order to further promote the technological advancement of the industry and the development of the national automobile industry. Its research direction and priorities are in line with the construction requirements of the State Key Laboratory.

The State Key Laboratory for Automotive Steel Development and Application Technology began preparations in June 2010 to establish a national research base for high-performance automotive steels, to cultivate outstanding scientific and technological talents for automotive steel, and to promote international exchange of national innovation platforms. In the two years since the laboratory construction, Baosteel has been focusing on the technical needs and industry development direction of the “lightweight, safe and long-lived” automotive industry. It has also developed steel product development, forming technology, welding technology, coating technology, and corrosion and protection technologies for automobiles. Key technologies have been researched and tackled, and remarkable results have been achieved. At the same time, during the construction of the laboratory, it also undertook 5 national-level projects, applied for 35 patents, won 7 national and provincial awards, and was responsible for and participated in the formulation of 6 national standards and 8 industrial standards in the automotive steel field in China. Play a positive support and lead role.

The State Key Laboratory for Automobile Steel Development and Application Technology passed the acceptance test, showing that Baosteel has fully integrated into the national automotive steel technology innovation system, which is conducive to further promoting the technical level of Baosteel's automotive steel and the role of Baosteel in the industry. At the same time, with the help of the national key laboratory platform, Baosteel will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with universities, research and development institutions and professional companies at home and abroad, and accelerate the development of key technologies, lead the development of domestic automotive steel technology, and support the industry.
