Zhu Changchun said that at present, the development of automotive polyurethane materials is extremely rapid in the world, and the application ratio has been increasing year by year. However, China still stays at a lower level, the technology content is not high, and the application range is narrow. Therefore, we should speed up the technical research and development of polyurethane in automotive applications and strive to upgrade the manufacturing technology level of China's auto industry.

Professor Huang Maosong, chief expert of the Shanghai Polyurethane Industry Development Promotion Center, further explained that among the three major topics in the development of automotive materials, polyurethane is one of the key materials and the most important way to achieve lightweight automotive materials. China should vigorously promote fiber-reinforced Polyurethane composite materials, thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer materials, etc. have high impact resistance, high-low temperature stability, high cost-effective materials, new manufacturing processes, new product development and promotion.

"The amount of automotive plastics such as polyurethane materials is an important indicator of the level of modern automotive design and manufacturing technology. At present, the average plastic consumption of cars in developed countries is about 190kg/vehicle, accounting for 13% to 15% of the car's weight, and even full production of polyurethane Body sports cars; and China's average plastic car consumption is 80 ~ 100kg / vehicle, accounting for 8% of the car's weight, the application rate is significantly lower, "Huang Maosong said.

Huang Maosong pointed out that in the field of green automotive materials, China should vigorously develop low organic volatile content, low atomization polyurethane foam automotive interior materials, biodegradable polyurethane materials, vegetable oil-based polyether polyol polyurethane materials, green polyurethane car Key materials such as tires, waterborne polyurethane adhesives and coatings. In addition, the development of polyurethane noise reduction materials, microcellular polyurethane elastomer shock absorbing and cushioning materials, polyurethane bumpers and airbags, comfortable polyurethane car seats and other materials to improve the car's comfort and safety are also the direction of the development of automotive polyurethane materials.
