Automotive engine cooling fan with PP reinforcement

Automobile engine cooling fans generally use glass fiber (GF) reinforced PP. This kind of PP has strong rigidity, high toughness and heat resistance, good molding processability, and its modification method mainly adopts GF and elastomer to enhance and toughen together. The continuous increase in engine power has imposed higher requirements on the cooling effect. The heat resistance of fan materials also needs to be increased accordingly. How to further increase the rigidity, strength and heat resistance of GF reinforced PP has become the key to the development of fan PP materials. Generally, short GF-enhanced PP can increase the strength of the material by increasing the fiber length. Because the rigidity, strength, and heat resistance of long GF-reinforced PP are better than that of short GF, the long-GF-enhanced PP will be the development trend of enhanced PP. In recent years, some large foreign companies have introduced long GF-enhanced PPs, while domestic ones lack corresponding products.
