The production method of the PP bumper used widely in foreign countries is the copolymerization in the reactor and the blending of PP and ethylene propylene rubber. The PP special material produced by this method has excellent performance. Domestic use of mechanical blending modified materials, its production method is the use of twin-screw extruder, etc. PP polyethylene (PE), rubber, inorganic, filler and other blending granulation.

The gas-phase PP technology jointly developed by BASF, ICI and the company can be directly used to produce a 50% PP copolymer of ethylene-propylene-rubber. This material has excellent impact resistance and good melt fluidity and is suitable for thin-walled long-channel injection. Molding can be used to make car bumper covers, spoilers and car protectors. Dow Chemical Co., Ltd. uses U-nipotm polymerization technology and special catalysts to prepare impact copolymer PP, its rubber content reaches 40%, has good rigidity and toughness, excellent low temperature impact resistance, and is widely used in the automotive field.

In recent years, new methods have been developed at home and abroad for the toughening of modified PP using β crystal nucleating agents, and the increase in the β crystal form of PP with poor impact resistance performance to the β crystal form with excellent impact resistance has been achieved. The purpose of toughness, without significantly reducing other properties, can greatly improve the impact resistance, and is one of the development directions of toughening modification in the future.
