Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has developed the "GCB Series", which is a multilayer ceramic capacitor with a maximum operating temperature of 200°C and which is bonded and mounted using a conductive adhesive. Samples are currently available and volume production is scheduled for 2016. Mainly for components equipped in the harsh environment around the engine compartment of an automobile, such as electronic control units (ECUs) that control gearboxes.
By using "Ni/Pd electrodes" for the external electrodes, the developed product can achieve high bonding reliability with the conductive adhesive even in a high-temperature environment. In addition, compared with the original GCG series, the new product improves the corrosion resistance of the terminal electrodes.
There are two main use temperature characteristics of the GCB series. One is the “X8R characteristic” whose capacitance change rate is ±15% at -55 to +150°C, and the other is that the change rate of capacitance is +15/-50% at -55 to +200°C. X9M features." The rated voltage is 10 to 100Vdc. The electrostatic capacity is 1000pF to 0.47μF. Meets the automotive electronic component standard "AEC-Q200". Dimensions are 1005 size (1.0mm x 0.5mm x 0.5mm) and 1608 size (1.6mm x 0.8mm x 0.8mm). (Reporter: Ujinjin)
